Ash Craig Bio
Ash was born and raised in Orlando, FL, where he spent his teenage years dressing up in weird costumes with friends. He attended Florida State and divided his time between the Schools of Theatre and Film, learning how to make everything from period costumes to screen-ready props and falling in love with the process of creating.
He relocated to New York City in 2014 and continued to make costumes, many of which went on to win in major competitions. During the pandemic he shifted his focus to home crafts and other small personal projects.
In 2024, out of a desire to reconnect with community and spread a bit of joy, he decided to attend Brooklyn Pride with a small table and free face-paint. That evolved into making custom paint pallets for more than 20 flags and creating affordable, expansive pride merchandise to go with them.
Ash now enjoys creating unique jewelry and collecting interesting vintage items to share with his community. He’s also begun to offer his services in costuming to theatre and film makers in the city, with a focus on experimental works.
